PAPER BAGS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE: showcasing wallpaper art combined with the custom flap closure design tailored by nPack

MINDTHEGAP, the main brand of Global Art Production, are world-known maverick storytellers in the field of home décor. The brand brings a fresh, bold, nontraditional approach to how they craft and share their exclusive product.
The long-term partnership between Global Art Production and nPack led to the co-creation of this one-of-a-kind, creative paper bag design.

THE CHALLENGE
A bag for unique storytellers
„We are currently preparing for a new fair scheduled for January 2023 in Paris. For this special occasion, we are interested in having a new paper bag that differs from what we have used thus far.”

After our joint work on the projects Woodstock & Minnie Kemp X, in December 2023, the independent-minded, nonconformist innovators readily trusted nPack with the creation and production of new, creative paper bags for an upcoming trade show.
MindTheGap’s management had a clear requirement: the bag needed to feature an exceptional and distinctive flap shape. They opted for a combined handle design, incorporating both a knotted rope handle and die-cut grip slots.
For nPack, this was a truly rewarding project, drawing on our extensive expertise in crafting exclusive flap-closure designs and combined-handle paper bags.

THE CREATION
Handcrafting and imagination
For this project, the exuberant artwork named PIAZZA DEGLI ARLECCHINI was the background and inspired the team of creators at MINDTHEGAP.
Our partners at Global Art Production had a sample set of nPack’s luxury packaging products at hand. They picked the Bold flap bag style but had in mind specific model upgrades. The Chateau de Pommard sample bag was their favourite example, but the flap shape was unique for the wine brand, so we had to consider its change.
Our team was ready to cooperate with suggestions about a custom outline.
Robust reinforcement
The Bold Flap paper bag style is our speciality, not only because of its exclusive appearance but also for its outstanding durability. This quality is achieved by the specially developed reinforcing set of thick paperboard panels doubling the bag walls, the capacity and the flap itself.
Combined handle
What makes this creative paper bag really exclusive is the presence of a rope handle along with the grip handle. This combination offers extra comfort and an eye-catching colourful accent.

FREEDOM TO CHOOSE THE APPEARANCE
Our client was free to customize the combined handles by picking the length and colour of the knotted rope and choosing the grip hole shape and size.


CUSTOM DESIGNED FLAP OUTLINE
The unique outline is what completed the structural design of the custom event bag. We offered two flap shapes, and the more artistic one stood out as the favorite: the flap’s curve followed the client’s artistic design, enclosing the velcro dot area perfectly. The custom outline of the flap is a significant feature that made this creative paper bag recognizable.
