The Daskalidès chocolatier brand traces its roots back to the 18th century. While it today has a modern look, its passion, tradition, and commitment to quality remain as strong as ever.
Since 2011, Bulgaria has been part of the Daskalidès family, crafting unique chocolate experiences for chocolate lovers. The owners of the chocolate shop in Bulgaria fully understand the importance of creating an unforgettable experience for their customers.
THE CHALLENGE
A striking and lively colour palette
Chocolate is more than just a treat—it’s an experience that delights the senses, evokes emotions, and creates lasting memories. The anticipation builds as you admire the elegant packaging, its texture, design, and colors hinting at the indulgence inside. As you slowly unbox it, the rich aroma escapes, setting the stage for the first bite. Every detail, from the feel of the box to the way it opens, enhances the pleasure, making the moment even more special.
The two inspiring ladies who manage a Daskalidès chocolate shop in Bulgaria – Madlen and Tanya – contacted us in August 2023 with a request to help them create chocolate boxes design that would be distinctive and remarkable.
nPack played a key role in bringing their vision to life—one that embodies quality, uncompromising aesthetics, and pure bliss. Our input involved the crafting of the perfect outer shell from paper, setting the stage for the chocolate ritual.

THE CREATION
A sense of artistry and craftsmanship
With our clients’ keen attention to detail and the clear concept of the chocolate experience they wished to offer, selecting the best papers, patterns, and complementary details was a smooth and straightforward process.
A striking and vibrant colour palette was picked to enhance the large chocolate box, while the smaller box was made in two more subdued and classic colours. The difference in box styles added depth and nuance to the experience.
Magnetic closure for a high-end experience
The Book style box with magnetic closure for 30 chocolates combined with a frame tray was a choice at first glance when the ladies saw our sample boxes. This box style is not typical for chocolate packaging, making it an unexpected choice that is sure to capture attention.
Colour variety to convey special attention
The simple lid and base box solution for 49 chocolates was an easier choice. After choosing the box style, we focused on the paper colour choices as the main task we resolved.
Custom-sized chocolate dividers
The separators between individual chocolate pieces were tailored to fit the boxes and house 30 or 49 pieces respectively.

RIGID TRAY BOX WITH LIFT-OFF LID
This is the larger one of the two chocolate boxes designs that we produced. Its size suggested that we made the base sturdy and rigid using 2 mm greyboard instead of folding box board. These boxes won’t bend in one’s hand under the weight of 49 chocolates.
Under the lid of each box we place a sheet of semi-translucent paper with a meaningful message from the chocolate brand printed on it. This sheet is not only for protection, but is also an important step in the unboxing ritual.
MAGNETIC CLOSURE BOOK STYLE BOX
The smaller box is even more solid with its hard-cover style. Two magnet pairs make a reliable closing system and add sophistication to this chocolate boxes design.
EXCLUSIVE GIFT SET BAG
The premium bag is custom-made for a chocolate packaging gift set of champagne and chocolates. It has a special flap with a custom outline, a reliable reinforcement and a comfortable die-cut handle
