For their client Nexo, a globally operating platform for instant crypto loans, Oblik Studio established a visual language which covers all aspects of communication with the finance company’s clients and employees.
THE CHALLENGE
Exclusive box with multiple roles
As a part of the Partnership process, Oblik studio trusted us with the development and manufacturing of various promotional products for Nexo, including the Nexo Token display box.
The purpose of this box is to perform multiple roles, namely to showcase the company brand colour and logo, then to be given away as a corporate gift, and finally to become a collector’s coin display.

THE CREATION
From paper and board only
We crafted a unique, never-before-seen interior design that would serve multiple purposes: a gift and transportation packaging and a display for a limited edition, handcrafted silver token with the Nexo insignia. The specialness of the silver token prompted an outstanding packaging concept where natural materials take over the functions of plastic.

Based on the timeless appearance of the book style box, the token display sought to provide an unforgettable first-time opening experience.

The inventive design elements of the custom token display box lie under the hinged lid, where a mobile insert holds an individual coin. The insert consists of a lifting platform and a tight-fitting bed for a clear hard plastic capsule. With the help of a ribbon pull, the insert can slide to a standing position. There it remains in place thanks to an easel back tab. A ribbon stop holds the lid in place to complete the display function of the box.
Movable DISPLAY PLATFORM
Oblik Studio tasked us with proposing a design that seamlessly transforms into a display for the Nexo silver token. The element we suggested has a folder-style construction and is suitable for repeated folding and unfolding. Its lower panel acts as a support and the platform stays up. Once the box is open, a ribbon pull intuitively suggests that it should be used for action. The satin band is precisely placed and measured to perform its function to pull out the lifting platform.
Accent CAPSULE BED
This detail is raised and acts as a pedestal, accenting on the token. The bed is tailored to fix the plastic capsule when the platform stands. It also keeps the capsule in place during transportation and storage. With this in mind, during the prototyping stage of the custom token display box, we tested 3 different capsule bed and thumbhole designs before we chose the best fit.
RIBBON STOP: enhanced display function
To complete the display feature of the box, we limited the movement of the hinged lid using a ribbon stop. Together with the lifting platform, the two elements are synchronised in an ensemble for the best visual appeal and functionality.
